What I know now….
October 17, 2007I’ve just completed two days at Melcrum’s Social Media Workshop and I just know SO much more… Where are the youngsters? I know cool stuff
I even have my own blog…. and I’m not afraid to use it!
The workshop provided practical examples of social media (as it stands today) and highlighted how easy it is to use. That is one of the most pleasing aspects of it for me is- I know longer need to struggle with remembering code…
I also learnt that I am not alone…. there are lots of other organisations out there who are also grappling with how to introduce these new tools. However, it’s not about the tools,. It’s about new ways employees interact with each other. I’m looking to see collaboration, knowledge sharing and people freely sharing their thoughts.
I also don’t see traditional communication channels changing anytime soon… But I might just also have my own blog …. And perhaps a wiki….
PS. I’d like to say thanks to Lee Hopkins for sharing his acres of wisdom, and for keeping us entertained. Thanks to Alex for the interesting case studies of how Australian companies are using social media. And to everyone who attended- Thanks for sharing your thoughts and opinions so willingly. It made for an extremely interesting two days.
It sounds like you have had an experience that has opened your eyes. That is fantastic! Hopefully more people will have the same eye opening experience, so that they can share in your enthusiasm,
Hopefully in future blogs you’ll be able to share more details.
Welcome to the wonderful world of blogging. I hope you find the experience enjoyable and productive.
